The classic Annapurna Circuit Trekking in the Annapurna region follows Marshyangdi Khola (river) from the subtropical lowlands to the Manang basin, then crosses the Thorung La Pass (5416 meters), before descending down to the deepest gorge in the world, the Kali Gandaki. The diversity in landscapes, from the lush green rice paddies of the Marshyangdi to the arid high altitude Himalayan interior, are a hallmark of this trek. The common pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhist, Muktinath Temple is the sacred highlight of the latter half of the trek.
